Languages in Nepal script

The term “Nepal-Script” is a direct English translation of the Nepali term “Nepal-Lipi” which is a short form of the term “Nepalmandaliya lipi” traditionally used to mean the script of Nepalmandal. This term has become ambiguous in the modern context of Nepal as it could inaccurately imply to mean “the script of Nepal”. To avoid confusion some people prefer to call it “Newari Script”, however accuracy of this term is also debatable as we shall see below.
